It seems that IBM was testing out some Apple computers in the Oct-Jan08 timeframe to see how folks over at their Research Information Services dept liked them. Acer Aspire Gemstone Blue model 8920G

Acer has unveiled 2 of their new Gemstone Blue notebooks, the 16-inch model 6920G and the larger 18.4-inch 8920G.
Both have 16:9 full HD 1920×1080 displays for showing Blu-ray video, 5.1- channel sound and come with an unusual touch-sensitive CineDash media console for controlling media playback.

Panasonic ToughBook UMPC

Panasonic announces a ruggedized UMPC version of their ToughBook series of computers.
This unnamed new ToughBook has a low-power Atom processor, an “Ultra tough design” (although Panasonic won’t say how tough), 5.6-inch LCD touch screen and a long-life hot-swap battery.

Apple today announced both their software development kit and support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and other enterprise-oriented features at their iPhone Software Roadmap event.

It’s small, cheap, functional and cute. The Asus Eee PC 900 was revealed March 3 at CeBIT 2008 to contain a 1024×600 pixel 8.9-inch display, 8GB SSD, 1GB DDR2 memory, MMC/SD/SDHC card reader, 1.3MP camera and 802.11 b/g wireless LAN, and all for only 399 Euros.
